Campaigns are the new movements of society. Whether promoting a product, issue, or behavior, models for engaging the masses are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and so much so that lines are beginning to blur between the tactics taken by corporations and those of nonprofits. In some cases, they are even joining together to collectively attract new customers, donors, and advocates. Whether online engaging “clicktavists” or moving millions of churchgoers in pews, the results can be thousands of people and millions of dollars.
