Historically, media professionals have been most comfortable in their role as a watchdog, exposing crises and wrongdoing. Should they also play a more aggressive role in highlighting and accelerating social progress? If so, how can they change their focus and avoid claims of ‘playing favourites?’ As media platforms continually evolve, how can journalists find accurate and authentic information about social innovations in the field? Do new emerging media platforms help or hurt their coverage? Engage with a diverse group of media innovators who are examining this issue philosophically as well as practically.
