Biography

Linda Scott is DP World Chair for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Said Business School. Her research focuses on women’s economic empowerment through market-based means. Professor Scott works with multinational companies on programmes designed to help women economically, especially through entrepreneurship, but also through select consumer goods, such as mobile phones or sanitary pads. She has worked with Procter & Gamble, Avon, Walmart, ExxonMobil, Goldman Sachs, Vodafone, CARE, UNICEF, Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, and Plan on these issues. She curates Power Shift: The Oxford Forum for Women in the World Economy. Professor Scott was featured on the Financial Times’ “Thinking Big” video series and her work has been covered by The Economist, BBC, The New York Times, the Guardian, and other world press vehicles. She serves a U. S. State Department subcommittee on women’s access to markets. Scott writes a blog, “The Double X Economy.” Her twitter handle is @ProfLindaScott.
