Welcome to the new Skoll World Forum, bringing you the most relevant news, insight, and opportunities to accelerate entrepreneurial approaches and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing social issues.

Today, we are excited to launch the new Skoll World Forum website: a year-round platform where executive audiences can learn about the latest news and innovative approaches in a variety of focus areas (e.g. deforestation, education and economic opportunity, or healthcare access and treatment), and engage with the world’s leading thinkers and doers of social change on key questions, challenges and opportunities.

We have partnered with some of the world’s leading media institutions, foundations and other organizations to ensure both influential readership and quality content. We hope the combination of regular debates, individual contributions and curated insight will give you a dynamic and engaging place to discover new and relevant information quickly—in order to make better, more informed decisions on the issues you care about most.

For November, we will feature debates about which disruptive forces will drive the next decade of social progress, what Silicon Valley can teach social entrepreneurs (and vice versa), and the role of media in accelerating social impact around the world. Executive representatives across business, government, philanthropy, international institutions, and other sectors weigh in on these issues and tackle them from different perspectives.

Other debates in November include the executive participation of LinkedIn, Google, Twitter, Barefoot College, Camfed, Amazon Conservation Team, WITNESS, Participant Media, Search for Common Ground, MTV International, Africa Media Initiative, and many more.

We encourage you to comment on these debates, as selected quotes and insights from our community will be published through our media partners as part of a summary article. Please be clear, concise, and thoughtful, and don’t forget to identify yourself and your affiliated organization!

We have also launched an ongoing series to spotlight the strategies and approaches of different investment organizations working for social impact, so it’s easy to understand the landscape and focus of key players. To kick off this series, we asked Jeff Raikes, CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to articulate their theory of change. Later this month, we will feature similar articles by Pamela Flaherty, President and CEO of the Citi Foundation, and Jennifer Buffett, President of the NoVo Foundation.

In addition, we launch with a number of original articles on a wide range of topics:

Other notable contributions for later in November include articles by Archbishop Desmond Tutu on ending violence against women and Alicia Keys on tackling the global AIDS crisis.

Apart from content written exclusively for the new Skoll World Forum, a large part of our effort will be curating the best insights from dozens of sources around the world in order to bring to you a ‘best of the web’ stream of important news, commentary, research and analysis.

We look forward to your feedback and engagement!
